Bringing Brazilian Carnival to the Cotswolds
Back for their fourth appearance at the Cotswold Beer Festival, Olá Samba returns to the lawns on Saturday with their signature explosion of rhythm, colour, and joy. Based in Cheltenham and led by professional percussionist David Walter MMus, this vibrant ensemble has been sharing the spirit of Rio Carnival across Gloucestershire since 2011.
Specialising in authentic Brazilian percussion—including samba from Rio, samba reggae from Bahia, maracatu from Pernambuco, and more—Olá Samba’s performances are a celebration of community, culture, and pure carnival energy.
Whether you’re dancing barefoot on the grass or soaking up the sounds with a pint in hand, Olá Samba’s infectious grooves will have you moving before you know it. Their mission is simple: using music to break down barriers, lift spirits, and bring people together!
